More tears came rolling down her cheek, and slowly, her head came to rest in Diego's shoulder. Do you see any more saber tooth tigers around here? I also left my family a long time ago. Hey - Diego interrupted her- I understand. It's just that, ever since I left my family and joined captain Gut, I have been feeling this emptiness, this hollow spot inside me which no amount of violence or booty can fill, but why would you care about it? It's not like you. Something inside her made her feel like she could trust Diego, but her mind told her that opening up to his captor wasn't a very good idea. As if you could understand these things. Her tough façade shattered in an instant. With his paw he lifted her head and looked at her. Diego, against better judgment, entered the cell and sat down near her. She turned around and just sat down at the far end of the cell, her head low. Shira looked at him, a small mix of pain and softness in her gaze. are you okay? - Diego asked trying to deviate the topic. Diego stuttered, unable to find the words. They both looked at each other, none of them daring to speak. A second later, when he opened them, he was met with two deep blue eyes staring at him. very soon he began to fantasize and closed his eyes. Her slender hips, her soft white fur, those perky ears that gave her a rather cute look. Diego just stood there, still, watching her move and stretch that gorgeous body of hers. He walked to the improvised holding cell, and found Shira awake, grinding her body slowly against the inside of the hollowed tree. When he passed by the tree, he was struck by an odd smell, something he couldn't quite analyze. Man, one of these days I am going to kill that sloth.- he thought lightheartedly as he walked towards the lookout. The sloth, used to this sort of behavior and quite tired himself, just pointed out that it was his turn to keep watch, and dozed off incredibly fast. Then, a familiar but unpleasant taste made its way through his tongue, and he spat Sid in disgust. Instincts kicked in, and he jumped to seize his attacker. He was sharply awoken by a poking in his paw. His mind started drifting back to memories of his old family, and soon he was fast asleep. Heh, what an ego.-he softly said to himself. He watched the tree in which they held Shira captive, his mind overflowing with images of the gorgeous blue eyed saber tooth who had refused a bowl of water earlier. It would be a big day tomorrow, so even Diego decided to turn in rather early. Sid was on lookout detail so he was sitting in a rock, pleasantly talking with some berries. Manny, as usual, was one of the first to fall asleep. The small group slowly separated, each one going to sleep in preparation for the assault on the ship the next day. I actually wrote this a few weeks before I published it (ice age 4 screened two weeks earlier here in Latin America) but I wanted to wait until the US release date so you could get a better picture of the whole thing. Hey guys! This is my first attempt at some furry literature, so I'd like to know if something isn't right or missing.
